Speckling (or Dither), which layers?

Hi everyone,

checking the FAQs I’ve found this page: https://help.spreadshirt.com/hc/en-gb/articles/207945305-Optimising-pixel-graphics-for-print

Here is said that one should use “speckle” or “dither” in raster images through the blending method “Diffuse” or other methods.

What I don’t understand is:

  • Should I apply this blending method to the white background layer only?
  • Or to every layer?
  • Or only to the layers with transparency?

Only for (half-)transparent layers, and only if they are directly on the shirt (without a background). It is to avoid a white outline where the color of the design fades into the color of the shirt.
There is no guarantee that it’ll work, though.
