Preview card on links?

Is there any way of enabling “preview cards” on links?

I’ve embedded my shop on my own domain using the official SpreadShop plugin for Wordpress and have disabled the “optimise links” option so that I can deep link directly to products.

I know that the hashbang URL format causes problems on Instagram but that doesn’t worry me.

But when I share links on Twitter, Facebook and Whatsapp, I don’t get a “preview card” appearing - the kind of thing you normally get when sharing a link to a page on Wordpress with a featured image.

Is this a limitation of the SpreadShop app or is there something I can configure to enable these?

this took me some time to check.
So at first I would advise you to uncheck the “Optimize URL” feature. This will fix the “page not found” title error.

Then there is another error regarding the preview image which is a known issue at Facebook.
The only working solution is to post the link. Then delete it and post it again.
This will force FB to crawl the image at your page, which they don´t do at the first run

Yes, as I had said in my original post, I had already turned off the “optimise URL” option in the app - which is what results in the hashbang URL format and allows me to deeplink.

If you click on the link that I posted, you will see that it is indeed a deep link and that the page is indeed show on the site - but even though the twitter card validator reports back “summary_large_image” tag found, it still reports “page not found” - even on multiple attempts.

I haven’t tried this on Facebook yet - will report back when I have.
