Own hosted webshop advice

Hello, I am looking for my own Wordpress webshop hosted spread shop solution.
I have bought a hosting.

Have you any experience or good advice?

I am not fond of a Shopify solution. They are way too expensive and charge for every sale.

With that said I need more than just a webshop single site. I want a site I can grow with. I want to collect email for my list, create a blog, ability for creating pop-ups etc.
I would like good and easy customer service and video tutorials.

Can you refer to a good solution for my Spreadshop?

Hi Niels

I have a Wordpress site with my Spreadshop integrated via their plugin - this is a perfect solution for simplicity and a starter solution.

BUT - you cannot collect customer details when using Spreadshop as the customer is not technically yours - we have a “licensing agreement” with Spreadshirt where we provide our designs for them to sell on products to customers - the customers are theirs, not ours.

NOW - without going down the Shopify route and using a different POD provider (not my preference either) you CAN still build a customer list IF you build out your site with a blog on Wordpress - which is exactly what I’ve done.

I am driving customers to my blog and promoting my shop in the blogs.

I haven’t (yet) added a popup to get people to subscribe - but that’s entirely possible using a simple Wordpress add in.

In this way, I aim to build a community of like-minded people which I can then re-target via Newsletters etc.

You can see my example here:- Blog - passion is personal and so is our blog - plzLOOK

I hope this helps?

WOW! That’s a fantastic site - @JSIGN - do you sell that theme for Wordpress or is it all custom built? I LOVE that :boom:

My advice is to start working on this.
It is not difficult and you can develop it over time. You can start creating your site on a local host and when you feel it has reached a good stage, publish it, and make improvements every period.
As for me I am not used to using WordPress, I created my site using Drupal,I am using a custom module and the Embed Shop javascript.
I think it still need a lot of work, but you can take a look and it might help you get an idea.
This is my website link shirts.ly
I would be pleased to provide any assistance if you need it.

Thank you very much. This surely helped me in my considerations. Thanks

Thank you Salama.
Just to be sure…does Drupal work with your SpreadShop Api?

The solution looks very good and Drupal work fine together with my hosting company. they supports Dupal

You 're welcome @Mr_Bach
I do not use SpreadShop API because I have not found clear documentation. I only use Embed Shop JavaScript, with some manual work as I add each design separately.
If you are a developer and if you decide to go ahead with Drupal, I can provide you with code, structure and any help.
