Marketing and advertising help

Hi I am fairly new to using spreadshop. I was wondering other than the obvious like facebook and instagram and pinterest, what other sites or places are good for advertising and marketing my spreadshop?

I think it depends on the niche. I tried a bit of advertising on the platforms you mentioned but since my niche is quite local and tightly networked, I think I will have more success with word of mouth and other means of local advertising (Flyers etc.).
If you have a global niche (like dogs, cats etc.) the social platforms may be good to advertise at but also the competition in these niches is huge since all the “get rich with Print on demand”-Videos on Youtube recommend these niches.

Ideas for local niches:

  • Give away a few shirts to the community you are targeting
  • Provide free shirts as prizes for competitions or contests in your target audience (depends on niche)
  • If you are part of that community, wear you shirts
  • Maybe Whatsapp-Status if you are part of the target community
  • Instagram but not paid but just normal posts
  • Local Facebook groups
  • Business cards

there are a lot more possibilities but it really depens on the niche what works and what does not work. I am still only starting up my shop and also trying out different means of advertising.

Hi @Littles83,
to me the most important thing is to just get started. @smallthings.ch is absolutely right to reach your target audience where they actually are. Spending hundreds of Dollars on social media marketing when you have a shop for your local brewery is probably not too smart. But that depends on how firm you are with the network and how good your targeting is. So also for those niches social media can be great! :dollar:
I for example first created an instagram page for my shop, acquired some followers (mostly friends and family but also some other shops) and started posting. The more you get to know your audience the more you can just try. We have lots of tutorials, tools and articles on marketing in our help center. Maybe there’s also something useful there for you?
