Different printing methods on the same product (stop defaulting to digital direct with vector files)

I just created a design for the Men´s Premium Hoodie on my spreadshop with one motive on the front, one on the back and one on the arm. Since I only use vector files, I was unpleasently surprised that the front and back were printed in digital direct and the arm was printed with flex print (see image 1). Therefore the overall design looked completely inconsistent and the digital direct printing also had a white outline (see image 1 - Back).

Then I tried uploading the same vector file to spreadshirt and ordered the Men´s Premium Hoodie. This time the design was printed using flex printing (see image 2).

I talked to the support about this behaviour and they told me that spreadshop will always default to digital direct for products whenever it´s possible. I feel like the shop owner should have an option if he really wants to default to digital direct or only use flex printing when a vector file has been uploaded. Otherwise the product range will completely lack consistency.

Will this behaviour with defaulting to digital direct also persist in the furure? Because then I need to quickly look for alternatives.

Ok, I just got another message from the support. Their solution is: “I advise you to remove the sleeveprint and only sell the front and backside.”, because the sleeves are too small for the digital printers. However, this is ridiculous, because the sleeve is the only part that is printed to my satisfaction.

Sadly, spreadshop will reduce flex printing in the near future and they plan to buy also smaller digital printers, so also the sleeves can be printed in the near future with digital printing. This means that spreadshop is going to offer only one type of printing, the same type of printing I´m not happy with - digital direct.

Spreadshop provided all the features and tools I needed, but it doesn´t matter if my customers or me are not happy with the product.
